Agreed Value coverage for total loss or theft, with no depreciation, regardless of vehicle age or mileage

With Porsche Car Insurance, you will always know the minimum you will receive if your car is written-off or stolen, with no deductible if your Porsche is a total loss or is stolen from your locked garage. We’ll pay you the full sum insured, not a depreciated ‘market value’.

Extended replacement cover

Extended replacement cover

In the event of a claim, if the value of your Porsche has increased since the value was agreed, you will receive up to 150% of the agreed value.

If the cost of replacing your Porsche exceeds the sum insured, your Porsche is less than 15 years old, and the sum insured is less than £500,000, we will pay the cost of replacing your Porsche with a Porsche car of the same model, specification, mileage and age, and in the same condition as your car immediately prior to the covered loss.

New car replacement

New car replacement for Porsche cars less than 12 months old

We will replace your Porsche with a new one of the same model and specification, in the event of a total loss or if it is stolen and not recovered, provided it was new when purchased and you are the owner.

Guaranteed courtesy car

Guaranteed courtesy car

We’ll provide a minimum of a small courtesy car (3 door hatchback) while your Porsche is being repaired by a Porsche Recommended Repairer.

Charging cables and your home charger are covered for accidental damage, fire and theft. You are also covered for any accidents involving any charging cables when they are attached to your car, as long as you have taken reasonable steps to prevent such an accident.

Protection against power cuts at home

If due to storm or flood your house is without power, and you are unable to charge your electric car for a period in excess of 24 hours, we will reimburse you up to £1,000 for the reasonable cost you incurred to purchase a generator system.

Full cover when driving abroad

Full cover when driving abroad, included at no extra cost

In addition to the minimum cover required to drive in Europe, we provide the same level of cover as when driving in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

  • Your certificate of insurance indicates that you can drive such a car

Agreed value cover

Why do you use an agreed value for Porsche Car Insurance?

At Porsche Insurance we understand that many Porsche cars have unique values and sell in individual markets. To make the claims experience easier for all customers we agree a value for each car up front when you purchase a policy, and then again at each renewal, so that there are no surprises at the point of claim.

Coupled with our extended replacement cover this means that in the event of a total loss, Porsche Car Insurance customers will always receive a payment sufficient to purchase another Porsche of the same model, age and condition. For the conditions applying to our extended replacement cover, please refer to the next question below.

What if my car has increased in value, and is worth more than the agreed value at the time of an incident?

Your Porsche Car Insurance policy includes extended replacement cover. This means that in the event of a claim, if the value of your Porsche has increased since the value was agreed, you will receive up to 150% of the agreed value.

If:

  • The cost of replacing your Porsche exceeds the sum insured;
  • Your Porsche is less than 15 years old; and
  • The sum insured is less than £500,000,

We will pay the cost of replacing your Porsche with a Porsche car of the same model, specification, mileage and age, and in the same condition as your car immediately prior to the covered loss.

Please refer to the Porsche Car Insurance policy booklet for full details.

Electric cars

Is my electric car’s battery covered?

We cover damage to your car’s battery if it is damaged as a result of an insured incident, such as an accident, vandalism, or theft damage. Cover applies whether your battery is owned or leased.

Are my electric car’s charging cables covered?

Charging cables and your home charger are covered for accidental damage, fire and theft. You are also covered for any accidents involving any charging cables when they are attached to your car, as long as you have taken reasonable steps to prevent such an accident.

What if there is a prolonged power cut at my house and my car has low charge?

If due to storm or flood your house is without power, and you are unable to charge your electric car for a period in excess of 24 hours, we will reimburse you up to £1,000 for the reasonable cost you incurred to purchase a generator system.

No Claims History

Why do you not use No Claims Discount?

At Porsche Insurance we prefer to use the information that you provide to us, and our extensive experience, to give you the best prices for our specialist Porsche cover, rather than rely on no claims discounts. You can rest assured that we take into account your whole driving experience when pricing your Porsche Car Insurance policy.

How does No Claims History work?

We are aware that in the event you wish to obtain cover with another provider, they will require a proof of no claims history in order for them to apply a no claims discount (NCD). We calculate your no claims history in order that you can use this to provide another insurer with a statement of no claims years, made against your policy.

If no claims are made against your policy, your no claims history will be increased by one year at the renewal date. However, if a claim is made against your policy, we may reduce your no claims history years.

Please refer to the Porsche Car Insurance policy booklet for full details.

Can I protect my No Claims History?

If you are eligible, you will be able to protect your No Claims History. This will be subject to payment of an additional premium.  For more information please refer to your policy schedule.

Track days

Does this policy cover my car for track days?

Porsche Car Insurance does not provide any cover for track days. However, we can consider providing cover for organised track days, including attending the Porsche Experience Centre, for Porsche Car Insurance policyholders on request. Please contact us if you are planning to attend a track day.

Making a claim

How do I report an incident?

If the unexpected does occur please remember to call us immediately on 0333 043 3786.

What excesses apply?

In the event of a claim, excesses apply as follows:

Standard excess: Based on vehicle value, starting at £250 – please refer to your policy schedule
Glass excess: £75
Young driver excess (aged 21-24): £200
Additional young driver excess for accidental damage claims are in addition to the standard excess.
Additional vehicle terms and excesses may also apply – please refer to your policy schedule for further information.

You will not need to pay an excess if your Porsche is a total loss; is locked in your declared garaging address at the time of the covered theft or attempted theft; is in the care of a garage or similar motor trade organisation for servicing, restoration or repair; or is in the care of a hotel or restaurant valet service for the purpose of parking.

What happens if my car is damaged by an uninsured third party?

If the driver of your car is involved in an accident caused by an uninsured driver, we will refund any excess you have had to pay.

We must be provided with the:

  • Vehicle registration
  • The make/model of the other vehicle
  • The other vehicle’s driver’s details

This promise only applies where the driver of your car was not at fault for the accident. Please refer to the Porsche Car Insurance policy booklet for full details.

Can I decrease my excess to £0?

Unfortunately not, there is a compulsory policy excess that applies and this cannot be reduced.

However, your excess will not apply if your car is:

  • A total loss;
  • Locked in your declared garaging address at the time of the covered theft or attempted theft;
  • In the care of a garage or similar motor trade organisation for servicing, restoration or repair; or
  • In the care of a hotel or restaurant valet service for the purpose of parking.

Repairs

What is a Porsche Recommended Repairer?

Repairing a Porsche and retaining the integrity of its unique and inherent characteristics is a job that requires a commensurate level of understanding, care and skill. Porsche Cars Great Britain Ltd recommends specialist independent repairers for body and paint services to its national network of Porsche Centres and customers.

These facilities have to meet the strict Operating Standards determined by Porsche Cars Great Britain. These standards are updated as technical developments are made within the vehicle range and are based on the qualitative processes and workmanship expected by Porsche.

A Porsche Recommended Repairer must consistently maintain their compliance with the required training, tooling and equipment standards as well as adhering to the repair processes as set out by Porsche AG for the repair of its vehicles. All of the repair facilities are independently audited and continuously monitored for compliance to the Porsche Body and Paint Operating Standards by Porsche Cars Great Britain.

When repairing your vehicle, Porsche Genuine Parts will be fitted, meaning that your Porsche remains a Porsche. The repairs will be warranted by the Recommended Repair facility against poor workmanship for a minimum period of 36 months, or the unexpired period of the Warranty appropriate to the vehicle at the time of the original registration, whichever is longer.

What are the benefits of using Porsche Genuine Parts?

For true Porsche high-performance, every part has to work with every other, seamlessly and perfectly. That’s why Porsche engineers apply the same precision to developing even the smallest components as they do for the whole vehicle.

Porsche Genuine Parts are manufactured to meet strict quality standards and can contribute to maintaining maximum safety and reliability. Accurate fitting, longer parts life, and less wear help to maintain not only the optimum performance for your Porsche, but also its value. Every Porsche Genuine Part fitted to your Porsche by a Porsche Recommended Repairer comes with a two-year Porsche Parts Warranty.

Most insurers will aim to use their preferred repairer network, who may repair your vehicle using non-genuine parts. The use of inferior parts can cause damage to your vehicle and may also compromise your safety and that of your passengers.
